DB2 DBA / Database Administrator Job in Coventry, Midlands Uk
I am currently recruiting for a DB2 DBA / Database Administrator to join a rapidly expanding software house in Coventry. The DB2 DBA / Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, managing and supporting a large DB2 database in a high availability environment.
You will report into the Software Development Manager and your responsibilities will include:
·Maintaining, supporting and managing a DB2 9.7 (LUW) platform / database
·Problem identification, diagnosis and resolution, Backup strategy and management and capacity planning
·Indentifying and recommending improvements and solutions to the DB2 platform
·Developing web applications using Java
·Leading the implementation and planning of large DB2 projects
Your experience will include:
·Proven track record in managing a large DB2 database in a live, high-availability environment
·Experience of DB2 tools
·Able to write and maintain database management scripts on both Linux and Windows
·Able to performance tune and troubleshoot the databases
·Interest and experience in developing web applications
The core development methodologies include:
·DB2
·Java / J2EE
·MySQL
·Python
