DBA Manager (Oracle) recruitment
The Group Manager (DBA Management) reports to a Director of IT and is responsible for developing group-wide business plans. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for implementing projects consistent with long-range IT plans. In this critical role, the Manager coordinates activities with other IT unit heads and establishes and ensures compliance with policies and procedures for activities within their group. Also, the role uses critical thinking to evaluate current methods and strategies, and implement changes and improvements while executing overall business plan in assigned areas. The Database Team performs in an Oracle database architecture supporting a 12/7 mission critical environment. and typically the Manager of this team has several database administrators reporting to this position.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least eight years work experience in IT with at least six years in database development. At least two years managing and directing database development or project teams, or a combination in education and work experience. Knowledge of securities industry and/or related financial services experience. In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cyle, thorough knowledge of design technologies and tools. Ability to exercise independent decision and judgment. Strong and effective management and leadership skills. Ability to select and retain talented and motivated staff. Excellent communication skills as well as seasoned judgement and tact. Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with clients and other managerial staff. Familiarity with Oracle, SQL, PLSQL and Microsoft Office applications and/or PC Proficiency in Windows based programs.
