DC-Institutional Strategist

 

The Investment Strategist is responsible for supporting a broad set of Defined Contribution products and ensures that our clients and prospects are serviced at the highest level. The Investment Strategist engages with relationship managers and the consultant group to understand and prioritize opportunities and commercialize investment solutions for our clients. He/she will be the product expert during meetings with clients, prospects, consultants, advisors and platforms. This includes packaging, marketing, messaging, and importantly an in-depth understanding of the underlying investment philosophy. He/she will work together with other DC Investment Strategists to shape the direction of broad product and sales campaigns and also to assist the marketing group in gaining a strong understanding of product features/benefits. Another important part of the role involves reviewing RFPs/RFIs and consultant questionnaires, responding to ad-hoc questions, creating impactful and effective product materials, and authoring thought leadership pieces. The ideal candidate will be responsible in combination with the larger team for meeting sales and revenue targets set out in an annual budget. He/she will also liaise with product development and research, portfolio management and the operational teams to ensure that clients' needs are being adequately met by existing and evolving product offerings, driving the product management process relating to new and existing DC offerings.

• A successful person in this role will have the ability to work closely with a large group of sales people of varying degrees of seniority and tenure.
• He/she will build trust and demonstrate product and investment expertise with clients and prospects.
• He/she will drive our effort to provide effective and impactful collateral to support and enhance our client service and sales process.
• He/she will work with the broader investment strategy team to drive product evolution of our suite of DC products.
• He/she will have a voice in the direction of product packing, messaging, prioritization, pricing, and product design.

Skills Qualifications
• Strong investment foundations with the ability to understand and explain in depth the investment rationale behind Blackrock's entire suite of DC investment products

·   Institutional client and product experience required

·   Strong interpersonal and sales skills

• Strong product management and/or project management skills
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task effectively
• High level of self-motivation and flexibility (ability and willingness to travel)
• 8-10 years of sales and investment experience 
• DC experience preferred

·   Fixed income experience desirable

·   CFA and/o MBS

·   San Francisco based role
