Defined Contribution Marketing - Retail Channel and Field Marketing
The US/Canada Defined Contribution (DC) business is currently one of BlackRock's most dynamic businesses and has been named by senior management as one of the main engines for future revenue growth. By focusing directly on delivering innovative solutions for DC plans of mega market institutions as well as those in smaller markets intermediated by platforms, consultants and financial advisors, the DC business has helped solidify BlackRock's position as a leader in the DC industry.
Summary of position:
BlackRock's DC business is looking for a smart, dynamic, creative professional to join our marketing team. This position is responsible for coordinating BlackRock's core retail/DC advisor focused initiatives--implementing integrated campaigns, developing value add and practice management programs and building effective product promotions and collateral that delivers high-impact, differentiated value and resources to DC advisors. The position is also responsible managing the relationship between BlackRock's DC retail sales team and the DC marketing group - acting as the day to day point of contact, soliciting ideas for new campaigns and collateral and providing feedback to the marketing group on client needs. The ideal candidate possesses strong execution skills and is able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once.
A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the needs and issues facing financial advisors in the DC market, including business development, practice management, plan design, investment solutions (i.e. target date funds) and regulatory/legislative updates.
Responsibilities
· Create and execute integrated sales and marketing product campaigns, including developing compelling product collateral, to raise awareness around BlackRock's core DC investment solutions
· Coordinate BlackRock-sponsored industry webinars, including promotion follow-up strategies, to promote BlackRock's thought leadership on latest industry trends affecting DC advisors
· Be a strategic partner for the DC retail sales team and work with them to identify and implement new marketing initiatives aimed at tactical opportunities to increase BlackRock mind share with DC advisors
· Partner with marketing colleagues to execute direct mail, email and web promotions that drive retail business goals
· Be a liaison for the DC marketing team and interface with other marketing groups within the firm to identify areas of leverage
· Track ongoing success of programs and campaigns and measure results
· Support broader marketing initiatives that impact the DC retail space
· Work on special projects and initiatives as needed
Location
· Princeton (1 day/week in NYC office is required)
Qualifications
· Ideal candidates will have 3+ years experience in financial services; retail asset management experience is preferred. The most suitable candidates will have experience working with DC financial advisors.
· Strong sales orientation; takes initiative to plan and implement necessary tactics to successfully execute strategic objectives
· Understanding of the DC asset management industry and competitive landscape
· Strong project management skills, creativity, passion, energy and team player
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Experience developing and leveraging multi-media marketing tactics
· Strong PC skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
· BA/BS required
