Chevron's Upstream Capability is accepting online applications for the position of DCAP WellView Engineer located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:
The position will act as a WellView application Subject Matter Expert to support the needs of WellView users and lead continuous improvement of the application within Chevron. In addition to supporting WellView users, this role will be expected to interface with the DC Performance Management Group, various DC Communities of Practice, UWT project teams, and SBU personnel. Along with using operational and business knowledge to advise and guide our Energy Technology Company (ETC) Technical Computing staff's development of new WellView functionality and be an advocate within Chevron for proper data management practices and data stewardship.

WellView is a well data management application that has been designated as Chevron's official System of Record for a well's mechanical configuration over time and its life-of-well intervention history. WellView is deployed to all Chevron business units and is used extensively within DC and is an emerging tool for both Base Business and Reservoir Management.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for development and deployment of RigView 3 which is a dynamic rig/job scheduling application that can be integrated with WellView. An older version of RigView in now in use in several business units. RigView 3 is likely to evolve as a core tool that SBU teams can use for business planning and integrated work/job scheduling
  • Work with WellView and RigView vendor to shape upcoming software releases to fit Chevron's current and future needs.
  • May be consulted on specific work processes and be assigned independent projects of high responsibility.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of OG experience, preferably directly related.
  • Experience in data management, data acquisition and/or data querying.
  • Canidate should deminstrate a broad range of Business Knowledge, be familiar with operations conducted in Drilling, Completions, and Well Service/Base Business.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate well to all stakeholders in a multi-cultural global workplace.
  • Candidate must be able to independently prioritize and manage multiple support responsibilities and tasks.
  • Able to detect / identify and quickly resolve problems with little or no involvement from others.
  • Capable of handling international or remote assignments withno supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and understand customer's business needs and processes.
  • Ability to review, lead, and initiate business processes improvement through effective change management.
