Job Functions Responsible for supporting NAFTA fuel system software content, validation, fuelmap integration, and production release. Responsible for development of calibrations for hardware related to NAFTA heavy duty engines. Responsible to resolve complex hardware and software related issues that occur in the field or customer applications. Assist with technical resolution of field quality issues as required. Validate Fuel Injection System (FIS) software features and calibration on test fixtures, stands or engineering trucks as required for each software release. Create and develop fuel system related software features for implementation in NAFTA engines. Knowledge of engine controls and Matlab/simulink required. Must calibrate and verify fuel injection calibration and rail pressure governor settings for fuel system components in NAFTA engines. Design, test, and procure required FIS limit hardware for OBD certification. Analyze data from RG, engineering trucks, or field to diagnose and resolve complex fuel system specific issues. Validate FIS related service procedures or service routines within service tools for NAFTA release. Must be able to analyze and identify diagnosis or warranty issues associated with fuel system hardware, and design service procedures or countermeasures to systematically reduce associated warranty cost. Utilize hydraulic test fixtures or engineering trucks to recreate failure modes observed in field, or to test effectiveness of countermeasures. Candidate must be able to operate in a dynamic environment and be aware of regional specific issues relative to FIS calibration and hardware. Participate in FIS required altitude or winter test trips. Basic Qualifications BA or BS degree plus 1 year of experience OR an AS degree plus 2 years of experience OR 6 years of Daimler related experience is required. May prefer group lead and supervisory and project lead experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree in engineering required, masters degree preferred. Minimum 4 years diesel fuel system experience required, experience with matlab/simulink and OBD preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of high speed data acquisition tools preferred. Ability to travel on short notice and international required.
