Deal Control/ ACA Qualified Accountant recruitment
One of the most well respected investment banks with offices worldwide is seeking an intuitive ACA Qualified Accountant to join their Structured Capital Markets (SCM) business as a Deal Controller/Analyst.
The SCM business structures a wide range of transactions utilising a number of legal entities and financial products to identify profitable structures and trades while managing the market risk faced by the bank. The SCM Finance department has a global reach and provides the Financial and Product Control support for the business.
SCM Finance is responsible for the preparation of statutory, regulatory, tax and management reports. It ensures integrity of financial information by implementing and monitoring appropriate controls throughout the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for an ACA Qualified Accountant to transition from the Big 4 into a world renowned investment bank in a broad, end to end, finance role. Your primary duties will include:
* Accounting for a variety of financial instruments involved in structured transactions on solus entity and consolidated bases
* Site accountant for a portfolio of legal entities responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting records and the validity of bookings to the financial ledgers
* Preparation of monthly management reporting, including PL attributable to the structure and balance sheet movements
* Liaising with Structuring team to resolve accounting issues and queries related to identified structured transactions
* Preparation and review of entities' tax computations
* Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP and forecast management accounts
The successful candidate will be an ACA Qualified Accountant either looking for their next step within financial services or for the right opportunity to transition from the Big 4 into Investment Banking. You will have a good technical understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and UK GAAP along with the ability to understand accounting entries and apply this knowledge in a practical manner. You must have the ability to pick up concepts quickly and to challenge existing thinking and processes while candidates with previous experience within the financial services sector will have a distinct advantage.
