DEAN School of Business Owens State Community College welcomes nominations and applications for the position of Dean for the School of Business (Toledo). This full-time appointment is available July 1, 2012. Owens is looking for a visionary, transformational leader for this critical leadership position that includes administrative oversight of the School of Business with programs offered on two campuses and at two learning centers. The next dean will work with a respective faculty, staff and administration in their efforts to expand program offerings to meet the needs of the community and evolving global economy. The School of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, and includes programs in accounting, business management, computer programming, E-business technology, an entrepreneurial major, international business, marketing, networking and information systems, office support, office administration, organizational leadership and system security and information assurance. The School of Business is home to a business incubator with potential for community outreach and student-run businesses. The Dean will be responsible for leading the school in developing a vision and providing leadership in new program development, existing program expansion including developing accelerated learning cohorts, assessment of student learning, accreditation, budget planning and management, securing articulation agreements, developing community partnerships with business and industry and cultivating relationships campus-wide. The Dean will be responsible for expanding relationships with current and prospective students, alumni and donors. Successful candidates will possess a Master's Degree from an accredited institution in a discipline related to business and/or information systems (Ph.D. Preferred). Three (3) years full-time teaching experience or equivalent part-time teaching in an institution of higher education or providing training within business or industry. Three (3) years full-time as an administrator of a teaching, training, and/or learning enterprise or administrative leadership within the business or industry community or executive leadership with a business setting. Strong communication, planning, time management, relationship building, conflict resolution and team building skills. Demonstrated success in creating both internal and external partnerships, competencies in distance learning, and a strong commitment to organizational excellence. A successful candidate will exhibit a collaborative, approachable, objective, leadership style. Preference will be given to someone with knowledge of and experience with ACBSP accreditation issues and practices. Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in working with a unionized labor force. Individuals with experience with international programs and/or businesses will also be given preference.
