Debt and Investment Accounting Manager recruitment

Essential Functions: Manage the overall functions of the debt and investment accounting section to include but not limited to: the input and maintenance of investment trades, debt issuances, and derivative transactions on behalf of the bank within a software financial system. Will integrate the system program with the general ledger and financial systems; participate with Finance department in determination of hedge accounting treatment for derivative transactions; develop accounting procedures and research accounting policies and ensure procedural documentation is available and up-to-date and in compliance with internal control standards and Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with a major in finance or accounting is required. MBA, CFA or CPA desirable. Minimum of three years experience in debt, investment and derivative accounting and analysis is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. 

Familiarity with the structure of debt, investment and derivative instruments. Working knowledge of the accounting treatment and the applicable accounting principles associated with each instrument. Problem solving, independent work and organizational skills are essential. Aptitude for research is necessary. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Direct experience with developing and utilizing diverse PC spreadsheet and database software applications.
