This is a Melbourne-based funds manager with an investment philosophy and culture closely aligned to the low-risk profile of their investor base. With investment teams spanning Fixed Interest, Listed Equities, Infrastructure and Property, a recent decision to establish a Debt Investments Team focussing on Infrastructure and Property Project Finance Debt has led to the requirement for a seasoned project finance professional to lead the team.
The objective of the role will be to establish the systems and processes necessary to originate and evaluate potential debt investments and in time, manage the team’s ongoing debt portfolio. Leveraging their existing network across the infrastructure and property finance community the Debt Investments Lead will have the ability to effectively communicate the team’s investment criteria to relevant stakeholders in order to attract potential debt investment opportunities. This is a highly collaborative role that involves dealing with the fund’s Infrastructure and Property investment teams to ensure appropriate risks and market factors have been considered when evaluating potential debt investments. The Senior Manager must have the capacity to operate at a strategic level and equally, be capable of working in the detail as required, developing financial analysis to underpin investment decisions.
Applicants will have significant experience working in a project finance environment, likely spanning deal origination, credit, debt portfolio management, syndications, club loans and loan documentation structuring. A strong personal brand in the local project finance community, excellent communication and technical analysis skills and relevant academics are essential.
