An opportunity has arisen to join Debtwire Analytics, a proprietary research and data platform for the global leveraged finance community. Our mission is to provide timely and accurate credit information on high yield and distressed companies worldwide.
Our teams of financial services professionals are based in offices in London, New York, Fort Lauderdale, Hong Kong and Mumbai, and are growing fast. We are now seeking new individuals for our London office.
Position and Responsibilities:
We are looking to hire a credit analyst on a 6 month fixed term contract based in London whose main responsibility will be to publish research reports on highly leveraged companies.
The individual will conduct fundamental credit analysis on European companies, including financial modelling, multiple and ratio analysis, historical analysis and forecasting of quarterly and annual income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements. The role entails working mainly on distressed and restructuring situations. The analyst will also occasionally publish work on distressed sectors and other leveraged finance topics as the market need arises.
The analyst will be responsible for producing reports on new bond issues, including modelling potential coupon and yield from comparable instruments (activities, ratings, etc), as well as reports covering industries and the European high yield and leveraged loan markets.
The ideal candidate will have experience acquired at an institutional investment manager. Debtwire Analytics covers companies across Europe so the candidate will ideally speak additional European languages.
Successfully executing this role may lead to an extension of responsibilities. Debtwire Analytics is very dynamic and employees are encouraged to be self motivated and entrepreneurial and actively participate in the firm’s development. The current team is small with a flat organisational structure.
Essential Skills:
- Exceptional fundamental credit analysis and financial modelling skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
- Highly-developed sense of teamwork and cooperation
- Be ambitious, motivated, entrepreneurial, and have the desire to succeed
- Ability to manage workflow under strict deadlines
- CFA or currently studying towards a CFA designation (or equivalent) is an advantage
- European languages are highly desirable
- Strong academic record or equivalent experience
