Decision Science Intern
Primary Job Responsibilities The Decision Science Group is primarily responsible for providing data and insights to marketing, product and executive teams in the Global Financial Services at PayPal. There are multiple intern positions available within Decision Science. Divisions within the Decision Science Group include Behavioral Analytics, Product Development, Forecasting and Strategy, Campaign Analytics, and Infrastructure. The interns will be assigned to one of these groups depending on their skillset and interests. The intern will be responsible for learning the PayPal business, understanding what Decision Science produces, working with their team to determine a project that can be scoped, completed and documented within the timeframe of the internship. Here are some examples of responsibilities for each of the teams: Behavioral Analytics - provide insights and metrics on customer behavior with PayPal products and interactions with marketing campaigns Product Development - provide insights on performance, testing for new products, as well as guidance during the development of new products Campaign Analytics - analyze performance for marketing email and online campaigns Forecasting and Strategy - develop long term business forecasts for performance and new accounts Infrastructure - documentation and implementation of the reporting processes, as well as maintaining the analytics databases Additionally, there will be an intern working with the Sr. Director of Decision Science on visualizing and communicating the strategic and analytic goals of eBay/PayPal and the GFS group When applying, please indicate the teams with which you would be interested in working. eBay Inc. interns will participate in a challenging 10-12 week summer program, then return to school in the fall. Summer interns will obtain practical work experience, learn about the eBay Inc. businesses, and receive mentorship from their manager and team. Summer Interns will set goals/objectives with their managers at the start of the internship, and complete end of summer performance evaluations.
