Job Title: Deli-Bakery Merchandiser
Location: Nashville, GA
(Selected candidate will need to live within the middle of the two districts that they will be supporting which are Nashville, GA and Statesboro, GA or within 10 miles of the center point of each of these two districts)
Job Summary:
The Deli-Bakery Merchandiser is responsible for training Deli-Bakery Managers and Team Members for stores in two divisions. Included will be the responsibility of working with Store Managers, Deli-Bakery Managers, and District Managers to enhance supervision and support of the Deli-Bakery Department in compliance with expectations and standards while executing established merchandising guidelines and business plans set by the Director of Deli-Bakery. This individual will place a strong emphasis on training and problem solving in the Deli-Bakery operations to achieve maximum sales and profits by reducing shrink and controlling labor costs.
Primary Duties Responsibilities:
• Assist Category Management with development and maintenance of category business plans specific to Harveys that focus on sales volume and profits through the entire supply chain
• Implement category strategies specific to Harveys for Deli-Bakery products
• Support pricing/promotional strategy and goals specific to Harveys
• Impact advertising strategy through knowledgeable presentation of promotional items
• Develop plan-o-grams and strategy for effective Deli-Bakery product merchandising specific to Harveys
• Advise category concerning product assortment/selection through appropriate analysis – adding new items, deleting poor performers specific to the Deli-Bakery at Harveys.
• Organize and implement off-shelf merchandising – display planner for Deli-Bakery products at Harveys
• Assist Category Manager in promotional planning process for Harveys specific Deli-Bakery product to encourage the stimulation of sales
• Grow category sales and profits
• Be the primary source of information for unsaleables – use information to influence the team and to improve the Deli-Bakery unsaleables results
• Participate in supply chain initiatives specific to Deli-bakery initiatives at Harveys
• Support corporate initiatives of cross banner synergies, minimizing shrink, increasing cash flow, and helping to strengthen retail
• Work closely with retail training and operations to support Harveys Deli-Bakery business plans and strategy
• Partner with operations and vendor community to ensure proper implementation of category/corporate initiatives for Deli-Bakery product at Harveys
• Maintain and update Harveys policies for Deli-Bakery and Deli-Bakery products
• Contribute to the dynamics of a high performing category team; take responsibility for developing self and others for promotion to the next level
• Responsible for executing the company strategy and delivering the Harveys brand
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and achievement of sales, gross margin, salary and supply expense percentages as well as other expenses for the Deli/Bakery departments
• Keep shrink within acceptable budgeted guidelines
• Maintains product freshness dates and shelf life policy
• Supports training and compliance of sanitation and food safety policies and procedures
• Approximately 80% travel with occasional weekend work
Job Requirements:
