Inside Product Specialist II (Technical Product Specialist) PSI500 Dell recently announced its acquisition of AppAssure, a global leader in complete server, data and application protection for virtual, physical and cloud infrastructures. The AppAssure acquisition is Dell's latest investment as it broadens its enterprise portfolio for a complete range of data center products and solutions and extends its Fluid Data architecture to constantly adapt to change, deliver business results faster, and protect data everywhere. Provides pre-sales technical support to the inside sales teams during the sales process. Accountable for delivering technical solutions, products, and /or services that address customer needs of varying complexity (via telephone, chat, web, or e-mail); or working with subject matter expert to address a solution of even higher complexity. Provide presale technical support to sales representative and customers. Design and deliver product demonstrations based on the customer's requirements. Answer technical questions from potential customers. Assist sales employees with technical support during the presale process. Drive customers toward purchase using technical knowledge. Provide product knowledge to prospective customers. May own account sets and/ or be called into accounts as opportunities are identified. Acts as a technical resource to support the sales organization to meet and/or exceed their objectives. Remains up-to-date on new product, technology, and services offerings. Stays current on industry and vertical solutions as well. Assists in the on-going technical education and development of the broader team. Promotes and positions key strategic product and service offerings. Explains technical, industry, and market facts to position Dell as a competitive solution. Cooperates and collaborates with colleagues, cross-functionally, to support the sales process. Understands the administrative and operational requirements of the job. Demonstrates good judgment in analyzing information to make routine decisions. May provide direction/coaching to less experienced team members. Begins to build and increase expertise for Dell's product and service offerings, as well as business processes and systems, at a steady pace. Effectively prioritizes multiple demands while ensuring customer needs are met. Escalates customer issues/concerns as appropriate. Customer "solutions" may be more single product focused. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or demonstrable equivalent with strong communication skills 1 - 3 years in software/technical sales OR 1 - 3 years of relevant technical operating experience Understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems Understanding of server and networking environments including: Exchange, SQL, IIS, SharePoint, File Server, Active Directory Understanding of clustering and data replication technologies Understanding of the technical aspects of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and ESX Experience on backup products such as Backup Exec, Veeam, Acronis and Comvault are highly desirable Experience in pre-sales technical support on Storage technologies as a SAN/NAS/DAS a plus Why work for Dell?
