Dell has expanded its networking solutions with the acquisition of Force10 Networks, Inc., a leader in high-performance datacenter networking. Force10’s networking capabilities complement Dell’s datacenter solutions portfolio, enabling it to offer customers a broader range of enterprise offerings. As a member of the Global Enterprise Pricing team, this team member will build on the expertise of product pricing teams, while developing new competencies within Dell. This role offers the right individual the opportunity to be a thought leader, engaging with executives at a strategic level and the entrepreneurial opportunity to design and implement networking pricing practices.
The Networking Pricing Sr. Analyst will work closely with Product and Technology marketing, product line managers, solution Go To Market team members, special pricing and other members of the networking development team, from concept through sustaining. Develops and implements pricing strategies to maximize sales and market penetration and ensure long-term profitability objectives are met. Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifies pricing structures as needed. Conducts research and performs competitive pricing analysis. Monitors ongoing competitive environment to ensure practices do not adversely impact company reputation or customer satisfaction.
In this role you will:
· Own the development and execution of a pricing strategy for a subset of networking offers, working with launch team members to review the value case, gather competitive data, evaluate current product portfolio and ensure other inputs as necessary. Work closely with sales, finance, PG and others to establish list and discount strategy.
- Review business cases, sales performance (volume and profitability), perform ad-hoc analyses and recommend actions to manage profitability and provide profitability guidance projections
· Evaluate current networking pricing practices and recommending improvements. Work with project teams to establish tools and processes to better enable pricing and packaging of networking in the future
·Deliver a pricing playbook as a training document for special pricers and others interested in pricing considerations
·Engage regional teams to ensure a consistent global pricing strategy
Qualifications
Qualifications:
·5-8 years’ experience in technology marketing, pricing or finance; enterprise pricing, networking sales operations or marketing experience preferred
· Financial acumen and common sense, combined with organizational agility and good communication skills
· Ability to build complex Excel models, yet explain the results in plain English and simplify the model for others
· Willing to work independently, building new practices ‘from scratch’, and a desire to build order from chaos
· MBA preferred
