Role description
Our Risk and Regulation teams work with the world's leading financial services businesses to help them manage their complex regulatory and risk-management agenda.
We are growing our Banking and Capital Markets Risk team, focused on delivering solutions around capital and liquidity for best practice risk management
Responsibilities
Risk Regulation ‑ Basel II and III ‑ Assistant Manager/ Manager will have responsibility for:
- Providing technical guidance and interpretation of prudential regulations (Basel III and CRD IV) ‑ particularly as they relate to top-tier banks and investment firms with advanced model approval for market, credit and counterparty risk.
- Review and development of advanced risk management and modelling frameworks: including risk methodology, processes, systems and controls for credit, counterparty and market risk
- Basel III and risk-infrastructure implementation, including detailed input into solution design,and end-to-end project management to ensure successful and timely delivery.
- Developing and managing a portfolio of client relationships across the financial services sector to support business growth.
- Successful candidates will play a lead role in the design and development of our market-leading risk and regulatory service offerings, associated marketing to our target clients and successful delivery
Requirements
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Postgraduate qualification (Masters, or PHD) in a technical discipline or equivalent
- Detailed knowledge of Basel III/CRD IV requirements for market and counterparty risk ‑ in particular requirements that govern as the use of internal models, and familiarity with the associated supervisory assessment and waiver application process
- Practical experience with Basel II/III implementation and optimization efforts
- Familiarity with topical regulatory and risk-management issues (CVA, FVA) and experience dealing with the associated practical challenges related to their management and measurement within a large-scale financial institution
- Detailed understanding of industry-standard derivative pricing techniques and the mechanics of market and counterparty risk models
- Familiarity with traded risk measures, their derivation and use in the day-to-day risk-management operations of a financial institution.
- Experience in OTC clearing and familiarity with associated securities markets regulations(EMIR)
- Experience of working in a Risk Management Function, a change function or within a management consultancy
Additional desirable experience includes:
- Highly motivated, with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a challenging/dynamic work environment.
- Strong team player with good organisational, planning and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral/written communication influencing skills.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Sound people management skills and experience of developing and managing a team of professional staff.
- Proven track record in management of multi-disciplinary teams of people.
- Proven track record of delivery
