DEMAND PLANNER

PRIMARY DUTIES
- Under the direction of the Demand Manager, coordinate item replenishment planning for the assigned Business Unit (BU), using planning tools in order to satisfy goals.
- Analyze and act on actual product demand, trends and forecasts to understand and control forecast variation. Monitor the replenishment process to ensure customers are supported and inventory goals are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact to resolve problems/issues that develop within a product’s lead time, which are a direct result of unanticipated, immediate changes in customer demand, manufacturing capacity and/or capability issues.
- Assist the Demand Manager in reviewing and fine-tuning the demand forecast and manage exceptions in order to generate timely and accurate replenishment signals.
- Assist and advise the BU’s sales force on their input into the Demand Planning forecast process.
- Analyze forecast error results for the BU and its sales force relative to established, measurable goals and objectives, and recommend changes to correct unsatisfactory performance.
- Interact with customers, in conjunction with the sales force when necessary, to enhance communications and resolve demand forecasting and slow moving inventory that does not meet established goals.
- Prepare, generate and respond to all requests for Demand Management/Control reports, analyses, meetings.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Four year college degree preferred, High School Diploma required. 5+ years experience in supply chain and/or operations planning. APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred. Experience with MRP Tools such as Manugistics, Oracle Demantra and ASCP preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including, but not limited to problem modeling, report creation, Pivot Table design and manipulation, and advanced function expertise such as VLOOKUP, CONCATENATE, ISERROR, FIND required.
- Understands the business strategy and relative importance of products and customers. Knows and follows standard demand planning, sales, and operations processes. Understands statistical modeling. Knows the value of assumption-driven planning. Knows and follows the demand control and forecast consumption processes. Understands the performance measurements.
- Requires advanced quantitative, analytical and computer skills, problem solving skills.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze information, lead inter-disciplinary activities in solving complex problems, work and solve problems in a production-oriented environment.
- Requires excellent verbal, written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, be well organized and able to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing work environment.
