Generates forecasts at a number of levels for assigned product categories using inputs from all available sources. Drives the monthly forecasting process through interaction and communication with sales, marketing, and finance. Develops and communicates future demand plans that drive supply chain planning processes. Scope: Small, less complex portfolio or equivalent number of brands. Minimum 2 years related experience.
Position Responsibilities
Drives the monthly forecast consensus process for brands assigned by engaging the entire cross-functional team resulting in a 90 day detailed and full year consensus demand plan
Collaborates with key partners in brand, sales, and finance to obtain consistent forecast inputs and address input gaps that may arise
Works with production planning and deployment to translate consensus/financial forecasts into an operational forecast
Ensures successful customer promotion execution through effective planning and leveraging of key customer event inputs
Engagement in forecasting of new item launches from ideation to production to ensure success
Has a basic understanding of all supply chain processes and the downstream effects demand planning has on them
Aids in the communication flow of changes to forecast and disseminates information to all stakeholders accordingly
Reports on forecast accuracy and does necessary analysis to determine root cause of error in an effort to continuously improve numbers
Studies, interprets, and develops thorough understandings of problems and opportunities
Tracks performance KPI’s to the established supply chain plan
Identifies ways to improve demand planning processes and tools
Tracks and reconciles weekly/monthly metrics versus established targets
Supports annual planning process for designated brands
Presents findings that drive understanding, alignment, and informed decision making
Provides leadership and direction for business team on matters regarding supply chain, forecasting, and demand planning
Leads by example in supporting the CAG operating principles of simplicity, accountability, and collaboration
Engineers tactical and strategic solutions that withstand the variability inherent to the business
Participates in process improvement efforts
Position Qualifications
Bachelors degree in logistics, statistics, business or other mathematically related fields.
Experience in production/inventory/demand planning environment
Experience with any forecasting application software – SAP APO preferred
Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge with thorough attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of all Microsoft applications
