Job Description-Overview :

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department is a fast-paced oral surgery department that includes implant clinic, UG and PG clinics. Our mission is to provide top quality patient care, while working together in order to maximum educational experience for the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students.

 

The Dental Assistant will:

Job Description - Requirements :

Basic Requirements: Vocational/Technical training or Associates degree with 1 - 3 years of related experience. Must be certified in radiology.Knowledge of Word and Excel; knowledge of Dental Software such as Axium and or Dentrix. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. with or without accommodation.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Dental Assistant preferred.  Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years experience a plus, with one to two years experience in Oral Surgery.  Should be proficient in taking all types of dental radiographs, including panoramic and cephalometric films.  Competent with sterile technique, able to perform vital signs and review patient history profile.  Computer skills including Excel and Word.  Excellent communication and organizational skills.  Warm and caring personality needed in dealing with patients.  Knowledge of medical environment and dealing with medical emergencies preferred.  Must be a team player and willing to participate in a fast paced and changing environment.

 

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

Overtime may be required based on the need of the department.  Need to rotate taking night call based on clinic needs, and available staff.  Must be flexible with assigned schedule to accommodate special circumstances.
