Deposits Product Leader recruitment

The ideal Product Leader will have responsibility for the leadership of Product strategy and operations for the retail deposit taking business of the bank. The Deposits Product Leader’s key role will be to develop and maintain all retail deposits product activities within the bank.

As a Product Leader your main responsibilities will involve:
The Deposits Product Leader will report to the Managing Director, Retail Banking, and will work closely with the Deposits Marketing Leader and the Deposits Operations Leader in continuing to develop and grow the retail deposit taking business of the bank, as well as liaising with other key functions including Finance, Legal, Compliance, Treasury and Risk.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Product design – the ongoing development and refinement of the bank’s deposit product portfolio to anticipate/respond to customer/market demand, industry trends, and regulatory change
- Pricing strategy - development and implementation of pricing strategies for new/existing products/customers to achieve target volumes returns
- Product performance – manage the performance of products, tracking and responding to performance trends. Maintain existing and establish new management information/product performance analytics to support this process
- Treasury funding liaison – maintain regular tracking of product performance relative to other market players, developing initiatives where appropriate to respond to this. Work closely with Deposit Operations Leader to identify likely impact of different product initiatives on customer services through third party provider
- Product operational performance – maintain regular tracking metrics of product performance relative to other market players, making recommendations and supporting the development of initiatives where appropriate to respond to this. Work closely with the Operations team to identify likely impact of different product initiatives on customer services through third party provider
- Product forecasting/capacity planning – develop and maintain product forecasting and planning tools and analysis, that will enable both the bank and the third party operations partner to establish and maintain satisfactory levels of customer service
- 3rd party supplier interaction – in addition to the third party operations partner, work alongside Marketing in developing/maintaining relationships with branding/PR/advertising partners
- Compliance of Products, and related Ts Cs – ensure that at all times, with the support of Compliance and Legal functions, that the bank’s deposit taking products meet all regulatory standards, and product development and approval processes include the relevant sign-offs
What we will be looking for in you:
We require the successful candidate to have a strong product leadership background specifically gained whilst working on a product function in a retail financial services environment. Ideally the successful candidate will also have the following experience:
• Expertise in broad range of product disciplines – product development, performance analytics, pricing and funding strategies, forecasting and planning, compliance, sales strategy planning
• The suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the need to balance commercial and regulatory risk
• The role holder will have a proven track record in working within a project team.
• Strong evidence of working with multi-stakeholder teams with internal and external resources
• Established credibility and experience interfacing with senior leadership
• Strategic thinker - can create execute concrete action plans
