Deposits Risk Director recruitment

Principal Accountabilities:

- Responsible for independent risk management oversight to support Deposit Products across all channels and position Ally for future success in the Deposits business.

- Oversee and collaborate to identify and assess deposit operational risks (people, process, fraud, execution, andreputation) and control gaps.

- Review, recommend and as needed, develop deposits risk mitigation strategies, processes, limits, rules and controls (e.g., layered risk controls) that ensure effective risk management for both existing and new products.

- Monitor, measure and report on risks and risk processes, controls and limits.

- Participate and represent Deposits Risk in the enterprise-wide fraud program initiative.

- Lead the development of a quality assurance program to review the effectiveness of critical deposit risk controls and compliance with the Deposits Risk Policy.

- Establish a standardized deposits risk scorecard, to include issue tracking.

- Partner with Operational Risk to provide subject matter expertise in the completion of the Deposits Key Process Assessment and Targeted Risk Assessments working.

Minimum Requirements:

Business and Technical Competencies:

•  Experience in deposit risk or operational risk management

•  Deposit product knowledge and in depth understanding of end-to-end deposit processes

•  Working knowledge of operational risk frameworks (e.g., RCSA practices, loss event databases, KRIs) in a regulated environment (i.e., Basel II standards, FFIEC guidance, etc.)

•  Strong analytical, computer, MsOffice and documentation skills, as well as orientation to accuracy and details

•  Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, including process documentation, and data analysis skills

•  Ability to support multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines in a team environment

•  10 to 15 years relevant experience in the financial services industry, including experience in risk management

•  Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with executives

•  Experience with operational risk management technology platforms eg Open Pages, Cognos tool, preferred but not required

Education:

•  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field

•  MBA or industry certification preferred but not required

Skills:

- Solid understanding of banking industry regulatory and risk management requirements for including OCC, FFIEC, FSA, BASEL II, FDIC, etc.

- Solid risk management skills from credit, operational, and/or market risk experience

- Working knowledge of third party contractual terms and conditions

- Demonstrated leadership ability

- Track record of success in monitoring and managing programs

- Ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders with a variety of contacts

- Comfortable working in an evolving and matrixed environment

- High intellect, high energy and action oriented

- High degree of professional and personal ethics

- Strong presentation skills; particularly PowerPoint

- Excellent excel skills
