Deputy APAC Head of Market Data Engineering (Senior VP) – Investment Bank recruitment

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of operations and service availability of all market data systems and environment in Hong Kong and North Asia offices, as well as in other APAC offices
Ensure proper monitoring of market data utilization, participation in capacity planning, version control and roll out of new products and service upgrades
Co-ordinates with other IT disciplines as well as vendors for the operational integrity of the market data systems, as well as any system deployment, expansion or upgrades
Provides advisory service to users of market data related to technical infrastructure delivery, data content, delivery, expense and control to ensure optimization and efficiency in usage of market data
Plan, implement and subsequently manage and maintain efficient, cost effective, and resilient market data system and services
Manage market data applications deployment which include software packaging, post-installation testing, change notification, rollout scheduling and post installation support
Compose and maintain documentation on system configuration, operational procedures, support and escalation model, change control, testing and implementation plan
Ensure all activities undergoing align with bank’s global standard while meeting local legal and compliance requirement
Liaise and maintain Exchange connectivity
Trading room design and relocation

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
At least 10 years market data experience
Skilled in maintenance of RMDS, as well as non-RMDS systems like Bloomberg, Reuters Direct Data Feed systems, ETNet and AFE systems, Dealing systems, etc.
Intermediate knowledge of Unix/Linux command syntax, i/o redirection, file systems, scripting language and text editor as well as WinXP clients and server familiarity with DHCP, WinInstall and SMS
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, and be able to work effectively with traders, business managers, key stakeholders, and MDS vendors
Working knowledge of Reuters API and Java Programming an added advantage
Working knowledge of Networks, Firewalls, PCs and Windows XP Operating Systems
Good understanding of MDS products, including MDS administration tools such as Market Data Manager (MDM) and Reuters “Data Access Control System” (DACS)
