Deputy CFO recruitment
Global career opportunity in accounting to work for one of the largest multi-media retailers in the world. Our team is looking to hire a Deputy CFO to support reporting, financial analysis, and financial governance and compliance in China. Our business has a track record of success in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Italy and will be expanding through a joint venture into the China market.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the country CEO, and with dotted line to joint venture CFO and the US corporate Finance team this position prepares monthly financial reporting and various related financial analysis.
Serves as a liaison between what is required from United States headquarters and joint venture partner as well as with any governance and compliance efforts.
Reviews work to ensure adherence to accounting operational procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Equity Holding Accounting –
- Establish and maintain relationships with Equity interest that allow for timely reporting of earnings.
- Develop the necessary policies and procedures to ensure accurate consolidated accounting.
- Research GAAP accounting to determine proper accounting treatment
- Reporting –
- In support of country CEO and CFO, this individual may:
- Participate in quarterly and year end reporting coordination for external auditor’s filing and preparation of certain templates
- Participate in quarterly review and year end audit interactions with external auditors
- Participate in year-end financial statement preparation for standalone financials
- In support of country CEO and CFO, this individual may:
• Prepare reports and documentation for Monthly Global Operating Review
• Prepare in monthlyquarterly financial forecasts and Key Business IssuesOpportunities for Company’s Global Development Board.
• Participate in Quarterly Monthly operating review relating to recent historical performance, initiatives, and outlook for the next quarter
• Prepare and participate in annual and long-term budget presentation
- Policies Procedures –
- Assist Country CEO and CFO with fiduciary governance
- Will attend 2-3 weeks training at the corporate headquarters in the USA.
- Educate company Finance team on necessary changes to support new reporting requirements
- Will lead a team of accountants as part of our joint venture responsibilities.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Direct experience and thorough knowledge of and expertise with Chinese and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting
- Proficiency in PC’s and spreadsheet and relational database software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong experience in working on a cross-functional team with members in China and United States.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting. CPA or advanced degree preferred
• Experience: More than 5 years experience. 5 years work experience in the United States or United Kingdom preferred.
• Language Skills: Verbal and written proficiency in English and Mandarin (native speaker)
• Skills and Resources: Strong collaboration skills, self motivated, very strong interpersonal skills. Ability to train existing team, as necessary. Works with high level of ethics and integrity
• Consultant experience a plus
