The Advanced Programs and Technology organization is looking for a Deputy Chief Engineer to join the Advanced Military Engines Systems Integrated Product Team (AME SIPT) to define and develop the next generation of military engines. The AME SIPT is responsible for the identification, development, and demonstration of technologies and advanced engine concepts and systems that will ensure PW market leadership for all current and future military aircraft programs. Key current activities in the AME SIPT include: Concept engine definition for 6th generation military fighter aircraft; Flight demonstration of PW engines in the Avenger and N-UCAS un-manned aircraft; Design and demonstration of growth JSF technologies in the LF1, CEASAR, and Task Force Energy programs; concept definition and technical marketing support for PW engine offerings in the upcoming UCLASS competition; and a number of other critical design and demonstration programs.
The Deputy Chief Engineer will:
- Work with the Program Chief Engineer (PCE) as a member of the SIPT in ensuring all technical requirements are met. The Deputy PCE will support and represent the PCE as required in SIPT meetings, integration with module centers and systems engineering, management communications, and customer communications.
- Have primary engineering leadership responsibility within the SIPT for a number of the key AME programs and projects. Responsibilities include technical oversight and guidance, engineering execution (schedule/budget), and customer communications.
BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years experience; or
MA/MS degree w/7+ years experience; or
PhD degree w/4+ years experience
10 years of gas turbine engineering experience, including experience in leadership positions within module centers engineering and/or systems engineering.
Position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to gain consensus among a diverse group of individuals and organizations to ensure that the best technical solutions are obtained while meeting program commitments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Requires a demonstrated ability to develop strong teaming relationships with suppliers, partners and customers.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Holding a current DoD secruity clearance is a strong positive.
