Deputy Director, Consumer Credit

You’ll play a pivotal role in the lead up to transition, navigating the team through this new era in credit regulation. Lead in our consumer credit enforcement function, conducting investigations into consumer credit licence holders and protecting consumers. 

Be at the forefront of changes to consumer credit regulation as part of the senior management team, managing a group of team leaders and supporting the Director of Enforcement to ensure delivery of high profile casework. Guide on broader project work addressing issues in the credit sector and work strategically to ensure adequate resourcing levels and mitigate risks. 

A skilled communicator, you’ll bring experience of both operational leadership and resource management to the role which will enable you to influence and motivate during this time of change. You’ll have specialist knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act or broader financial services regulation, have a proven track record in managing investigations and be adept at building great relationships, both internally and externally. 

The OFT is the UK’s consumer and competition authority with a mission to make markets work well for consumers. You’ll be joining us until the end of March 2014 before transferring to the FCA, who will take over the responsibility for the regulation of consumer credit consumer credit.
