Deputy Group Financial Controller

Hays Senior Finance is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join an Oil Service business based in Aberdeen. Our client operates within an internationally renowned network of businesses and is seeking a Deputy Group Financial Controller to join this organisation in a new role during an exciting period of growth in their international markets. This is a £45mill t/o organisation that is looking to enhance its' strategic finance capabilities by taking on an experienced Qualified Accountant to lead their finance team and support the Group Financial Controller.

This is a key role which will operate at senior management level to support and drive the commercial decision making of the organisation. This organisation has 6 bases across the globe and this post has been created to support the work of the Group Financial Controller to manage and co-ordinate the company's finance function. You will play an integral role in managing the capex process including financial evaluation of proposed expenditure and monitoring asset performance and returns on investment. This job opportunity will involve accounting, cost and asset management, budgeting, audit, managing debtors and creditors and taxation. You will drive the development of the Group's financial accounting, consolidation, planning and reporting processes and strategies to create a "best in class" governance framework within the wider Group.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACMA, CPFA) with experience of working in a financial management role ideally within both an SME and an international Group environment. You will ideally have experience of managing staff across multiple locations and will have strong problem solving and people management skills. You will have the ability to step up to a more strategic role in Aberdeen while the Group Financial Controller focusses on the international business units. You will ideally have a working knowledge of Visual Basic and advanced knowledge of Excel. This role will involve some international travel (3/4 times per year) and a driving licence is necessary.
