Deputy Head of Development team – Senior Developer Manager recruitment
An investment bank is currently a Senior Helicopter for its seeking for its Equity and Commodities derivatives front office desk.The team provides systems development and support capability into Client Structured Products.
The successful candidate will design and build solutions and improvements in front office trading and risk management systems working to functional requirements and specifications. The main Trade Capture and Risk management system is Sophis .
The job holder will also act as deputy to the development manager and will have to manage and lead technically his own team.
Role description
- Lead team on small projects and act as the deputy development Manager
- Development and maintenance Front Office IT applications and interfaces
- Implement and maintain Sophis application environments
- Provide assistance to the release build process, identifying improvements to the process and implementing solutions
- Interface with the business users to understand and formulates requirements
- RAD designing and implementing of tactical solutions for the business
- Design of solutions and applications with high technical standards
- Development and Support of the pricing tools
- A proactive role in how to improve development practices in the team and across the department
- Work with other IT (infrastructure and development) teams.
Skills and Experience
- Good academic background in Finance, Mathematics or computing
- Experience of the software system life cycle including testing and user acceptance testing
- Experience with the Sophis API toolkit
- Ideally knowledge of the Sophis database model and front- end trading / risk management application
- Very strong technical skill:
o C#; .NET architecture; C++, VBA / Excel; ORACLE SQL / PLSQL; COM
- Strong understanding of Equity and Equity derivatives markets
- Experience on Derivatives products, flow exotics…
- Good knowledge on pricing models
- The candidate should have a Quantitative background and ideally experience on Market Risk, Global Sales pricing, Market data, Front-end development
