Deputy Head of KYC opening working for an International Commodities and Energy House in London.

As the Deputy Head of KYC/ MLRO and acting as AOT Manager you will be supporting the the KYC Head in all activities relating to daily management of teams, operational work processes, and co-ordination of AOT activities for the business. You will be the technical advisor for all related KYC/ AML/ On boarding issues and be approving exceptions where needed. Additionally, you will be involved in various strategic project work focusing on design and implementation of policies in line with business objectives and growth strategies.

Being the Deputy Head of the KYC/ AML department your principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

*Managing 2-3 KYC Managers.

*Being the EMEA Commodities Specialist (Oil and Gas)

*Deliver sound, accurate and commercially viable advice to the business on all KYC/ AML issues.

*Build and maintain effective interaction and communication with key front office stakeholders and external parties.

*Maintain and develop effective KYC/ AML program and procedures for London and other locations.

*Manage and monitor the executive of periodic KYC/ AML testing, monitoring and surveillance.

*Take ownership and lead AML/ KYC related projects.

*Leading teams, promoting strong work ethic, raising standards and driving good practice.

*Develop and deliver innovative and effective AML/ KYC training to staff.

To qualify for the role you MUST have:

*Degree educated or equivalent.

*Membership of a technical or professional AML/ KYC body (advantageous).

*Extensive and similar Senior experience of working in a KYC/ AML role within a financial services or commodities trading business.

*Proven team management skills.

*Second to none technical understanding of UK and International KYC/ AML rules and regulations.

*Practical experience of working within EMEA regions covering both Oil Gas (advantageous)

*Robust and in-depth knowledge of MiFID.

*Solid understanding of typical risk structures and applying risk based approaches using initiatives to perform critical analysis.

*Practical experience of dealing with external regulators such as FSA and SOCA, in addition to various internal stakeholders.

*Practical experience of dealing with a wide range of high-risk clients

*Proven KYC/ AML process improvements or project work experience

*Exceptional people management and leadership skills and articulate communication skills.

*Strong persuasion and influencing skills.
