Deputy Head of Legal Department recruitment
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to Corporate Banking Department on all commercial loans, project loans and asset finance as well as other general lending transactions,
- Advise on compliance with the Banking Ordinance and other related legal and regulatory requirements
- Provide legal advice on capital management, asset and liability management as well as on legal and regulatory developments in the financial industry worldwide (e.g. G-SIFIs, OTC clearing, FATCA).
- Advise on Corporate Banking on loan structures and security arrangements
- Give advice on connected transactions and notifiable transactions and the same issues in lending cases involving listed borrower/security provider
- Provide advice on Trade Products on product documentation/enhancement/innovation
- Advise on Banking Capital Rules and Banking Ordinance Part XV
- Handle amendments/enhancement to bank's standard account documents and loan/security amendments
- Support handling of HKEx requirements
- Give advice on lending/security documents prepared by external firms
- Consider and approve appointment of external firms
- Assist in capital raising activities of the bank
- Act as Deputy in absence of Head of Department
- Assist the interpretation of HKMA Supervisory Policy Manuals and SFC codes and guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years with banking institution dealing in legal affairs
- Familiar with Corporate Banking products and documents
- Solicitor or Barrister-at-Law
- Member of Law Society of Hong Kong
