Deputy Head of Regulatory Reporting

Our client is a mid-sized independent US Investment Bank with a growing European presence that is looking for a new deputy head of regulatory reporting

Purpose of the role

To manage the regulatory reporting team (5 in total) ensuring accurate and timely completion of all reports to FSA and Bank of England and certain internal reports to Credit Risk department and parent company analysing the Bank's exposures. Provide technical support to business on impact (eg to capital, liquidity and large exposures) of new products. Work with head of Group Risk and Compliance on production of ICAAP and ILAA, including development of capital and liquidity stress testing models. Project manage new system implementations necessary for regulatory reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Oversee preparation of regulatory returns to FSA and Bank of England, assisting with production where required to meet deadlines. Review all returns for reasonableness and be able to explain key movements.
  2. Project manage implementation of rFrame for IRR reporting, including capital, large exposures and interest rate risk. Work with Finance, BLUK IT, Credit Risk and external consultants.
  3. Project manage implementation of exposure module of Data Warehouse to increase automation of other reports produced for Credit Risk department and parent eg exposures by sector and mortgage return (MLAR).
  4. Develop better internal reports for management of the Bank's liquidity under the new regime, incorporating relevant metrics from LRP and internal stress models.
  5. Support to business on interpretation and application of regulatory framework (eg BIPRU, new liquidity framework, Basel III). Be a key point contact for front office and Compliance on regulatory treatment of new products/deals and ensure issues/concerns are escalated as appropriate.
  6. Provide support on production of ICAAP and ILAA, including new Group ICAAP requirements from parent. Assist in further development of Bank's capital and liquidity stress testing models, ensuring consistent of data used for reporting.
  7. To deal with the banks' regulators' requests and queries in a timely and cooperative manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills Experience

Good knowledge and experience of the banking regulatory environment

Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

Experience of staff supervision

Project management experience, preferably including implementation of regulatory reporting systems

Strong IT skills especially data handling

Excellent communication skills
