Major City-based Corporate Bank seek a Deputy Head of SOX and Controls

The Client

One of the world’s largest providers of corporate finance, project finance and transactional banking services, they have offices across Europe, the US and Asia with a particular focus in Asia. They also have a sizeable markets division, as well as an asset management business in London

The role

You will be directly managing 3 full-time staff in Finance reviewing Business controls (65%), and IT infrastructure controls (35%). The primary focus of the role is to lead the quality assurance programme of the SOX controls. In addition, you will be advising on operational efficiency projects and assisting in streamlining business processes across the bank and its regional business units.
· Oversee, supervise and perform quality assurance review of the SOX Business to ensure correct SOX testing for year-end attestation.
· Manage the implementation of new SOX cycles and controls.
· Staff management – mentoring and developing team members in the improvement of their knowledge and understanding of the business
· Maintain key external stakeholders. You will be the main point of contact for External Auditors for all audit work undertaken across the bank.

The ideal candidate

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong risk and controls background. The client will consider Chartered accountants from practice, or candidates with in-house SOX assurance. Knowledge of Treasury products and their associated risks is beneficial, but not essential.
