Deputy Head of Operational Planning Readiness

The Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity to work for a global and prestigious asset management firm in a very
challenging position within the fund services operations.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Planning Readiness in a technical role focusing on
product related changes and the impact on the management company and the operating
departments. The focus of the work is to ensure that complex product changes are
completed efficiently whilst conforming with regulation and commercial interests in respect of
its clients and agents. The individual is responsible for the accuracy and quality of
content of documents produced by Luxembourg fund services that describe products and
services for use by intermediaries and shareholders.
The role is wide in terms of scope as the nature of product change is varied and continues to
evolve in response to new industry practice and regulation.
Typically the work will involve working with the senior personnel in the group offices
Internationally, researching latest rules and regulations, reviewing product proposals, drafting
of documents, compilation of implementation plans and the assessment of the impact on
existing services.

Main Responsibilities:

•Review and assess product proposals received from the product development team and Luxembourg fund services departments with the objective of providing written and verbal assessments as to the tasks, timing, and impact on implementation.
•Review and affect changes to the funds constitutive documents to ensure alignment with the services provided by fund services. This is primarily focused on the Luxembourg domiciled funds but includes working with colleagues in other jurisdictions where the Luxembourg operations provide administration services to other fund ranges as part of the company strategy.
•Advise on the necessary revisions to the content of legal and regulatory documents as they apply to services and operations performed by the Man Co in the marketing and promotion of the Luxembourg funds to financial intermediaries.
•Draft communications and notifications for approval by the Management Company explaining product and service changes to shareholders and financial intermediaries.
•Compile responses to RFP and due diligence requests from professional advisors on behalf of the funds and the Management Company where addressed to Luxembourg fund services.
•Review new product and service design proposals to ensure compatibility with the service offering and existing operating practices and to identify changes required to all necessary regulatory documents produce by the Management Company.
•Maintain timetables and product implementation plans for the tasks performed by Luxembourg fund services.
•Draft and maintain policies and procedures that conform with local regulation covering the activities as they apply to the Luxembourg fund ranges in respect of services and processes performed by Luxembourg fund services.

Profile:

•Extensive experience of the European investment fund industry, preferably in the cross border international sector. A thorough understanding of the various agents and types of services provided to operate and promote the firms largest fund range.
•A comprehensive understanding of European regulation governing UCI's UCITs and similar frameworks in place in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America in respect of the marketing and sales activities (registration, filings etc).
•Ability to analyse rules and regulations in detail and assess the implications of changes on the products and services.
•Fluent English language skills used to draft clear and defined communications using the appropriate grammar and vocabulary to describe events to shareholders and financial intermediaries.
•An ability to study and digest vast amounts of varied data related to proposed changes and to produce concise reports to include, the implications, options and logical conclusions.
