Deputy Head/VP recruitment
Main Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate and approve or recommend credit proposals in accordance with the Company’s credit policies and guidelines (signature B in approving next to MD’s)
- Mitigate the risks involved in approving credit
- Assist the Relationship Managers to structure transactions
- Review and update internal credit policy and procedures.
- Keep up to date with new market policies and implement where necessary and only when approved by senior board.
- To approve loan drawdown and other transactions
- Responsible for reducing non-performing loans
- To ensure timely inspections of assets under financed as these are the primary security of the Company.
- To evaluate and recommend on a timely basis, specific provisions and write-off of accounts.
- Review and update operating and compliance manuals.
- To approve banking transactions when required.
- De-facto compliance officer for Anti Money Laundering.
- Due to work demands, you may be required to vet loan and security documents to ensure documentations are in compliance with terms and conditions
- Liaise with solicitors and business unit for timely completion of legal documentation.
- Ad-hoc functions as assigned by the direct report from time to time.
The successful candidate:
- Good degree in finance or similar degree
- Able to manage and mentor a team
- 10+ years experience in Credit from a banking background (Must have SME credit experience)
- The successful candidate will be able to work independently and be strong in their ability to make credit decisions alone and support those decisions to board members if acquired
