SES is currently seeking an outstanding PMP-certified Program Manager with collaboration and/or network/communications technologies experience to join our high-performing team. The Deputy Program Manager assists with planning and execution of the project’s activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met. The Deputy Program Manager works with moderate supervision and is responsible for applying advanced Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to Project deliverables, processes, and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. Additionally, the Deputy Program Manager has experience leading successful communications and/or integration projects in a large, matrixed environment for a government organization that is geographically dispersed.
The Program Manager must have familiarity and experience with communications/network and/or collaboration technologies and their application to military operations and organizations. This position will oversee multiple teams in the operation, design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, unified communications environments for a government customer. The candidate will provide business development support and oversee the development of future state (UC/LAN/WAN) systems designs, deployments, lead project teams, and implement best practices for UC/LAN/WAN engagements to ensure customer investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives and that proposed projects are executed successfully.
Candidates must have experience managing large projects with multiple teams that geographically distributed. Should have knowledge of the Department of Defense and an ability to work well with a diverse team of individuals and have strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Duties
- Responsible for managing a complex communications/collaboration program with multiple projects including handling tasks that are involved in operations, maintenance, design, integration and development.
- Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
- Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverables.
- Defines requirements and plans the project life cycle deployment.
- Defines resources for project and program implementation.
- Identifies and solves project issues effectively.
- Oversees and directs the project engineering team and manages conflicts within the different groups.
- Performs team assessment and evaluations.
- Exhibits leadership qualities to define requirements for project risks.
- Possesses skills like organization, presentation and customer service skills.
- Designs and maintains project and technical documentation.
- Interfaces with the customer to ensure the program meets all expectations and deliverables.
- Research, develop, and conduct any necessary training relevant to project scope
§ Oversee the technical implementation by contractor, including project tracking, system testing, provider training, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of technical experience progressing from hands-on to managing large IT projects involving operations, design, engineering, implementation and transition to new technologies.
- Knowledge of unified communications technologies in one or more of the following vendors: Cisco, Microsoft, HP, Toshiba, Polycom.
- Must have experience with Department of Defense VTC operations, classified networks and information assurance processes.
- 5-7 years experience leading and managing technical teams to meet project milestones and deliverables on time and within budget
- Ability to work with all levels of customers and colleagues in a professional manner with clear, concise communication.
- Ability to work with senior technical engineers to clearly communicate detailed customer requirements.
- PMP certification is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent job experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Top Secret Security Clearance
