Deputy Treasurer recruitment

A leading insurance business group that serves over 15 million customers and has a track record of over 150 years, is looking to hire a Deputy Treasurer to join their busy and expanding Treasury team, be based in their head office.

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to be accountable for leading treasury liquidity along with the analysis and planning. This position will report to the Treasurer and will be based in Houston, Texas. The Deputy Treasurer will work closely with other areas of the business and report into the parent company, including FPA, Risk Management, Actuarial, Investments and all Corporate Treasury departments. The role will be highly focused on improving liquidity management, reporting and analysis, particularly in light of increased reporting requirements by financial regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Treasurer will:

· Manage yield optimisation, cash flow reporting, and FX risk mitigation (where appropriate). This person will be a key partner to the financial, legal and tax teams in the business subsidiaries.

· Develop a detailed legal vehicle and currency liquidity forecast built from operational cash flows as developed by the finance, actuarial and investment teams. Subject these forecasts to stress testing using business-specific assumptions that have been approved by Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Rating Agency Capital Management (SRACM).

· Examine the impact on the balance sheet of a sharp market decline, a ratings downgrade and other stress events, and demonstrate the business and cash flow impact via well-articulated behavioural assumptions and contingency funding plan actions.

· Use the liquidity risk analysis, determine the optimal term structure for each of the subsidiaries and develop a cash investment plan.

· Monitor Capital Markets'' performance against business cash investment plan.

· Monitor available liquidity against ERM limits and business targets.

· Manage the Short Term Cash Flow reporting team.

· Develop summary analyses of identified FX exposures from all sources (including premiums and reinsurance contracts).

· Actively participate in firms Fed Readiness project.

Qualifications Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor''s degree with 8-10 years of treasury experience, with the financial services sector - insurance and banking.

Extremely strong knowledge and experience about liquidity for FS businesses.

He or she must be used to working in a highly regulated environment, Federal Reserve experience is a plus.

Must be comfortable working within change process improvement/optimisation culture.

Work experience that demonstrates the ability to work well in a team environment with individuals from diverse backgrounds is necessary.
