Job Summary
An opportunity exists for a Derivatives Associate 2 level team member to join the Derivatives team within the Market Data department.
Reporting to the Risk and Derivatives senior manager the person will be responsible for sign off and quality control for derivatives prices. This position is an opportunity for a suitable candidate to gain exposure to all derivative products as part of a developing team. The environment is challenging and deadline driven. The role will be split between operational tasks and research/project work.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- To sign off derivative prices within the agreed deadlines
- Development of the derivative pricing area
- Increase knowledge of derivative instruments
- To motivate and develop a team under control
- To provide on going training and assistance to the team
- To attend meetings on behalf of the pricing dept.

To assist in the preparation and take on of new business
The candidate should have at 2+ years relevant experience within the funds industry with strong knowledge of all derivative instruments in the market.
A high honours degree in a relevant finance / maths orientated field
Core Competencies
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills are essential for this role
- Ability to motivate and manage a team
- Highly computer literate with a good knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of OTC derivative instruments – IR swaps, Ascots, CDS's, CD's, CP's, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communicator, both verbal and written
- Organised and methodical
- Team player
- Ability to work on own initiative
