Derivatives Analyst

The position performs duties that require both discretion and the ability to exercise independent decision in their daily role. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Confirm foreign exchange, futures and swap transactions with various counterparties via FX Connect, RBS Greenscope, fax, telephone and email.

• Submit foreign exchange transaction allocations for matching through GTSS and futures transactions through RBS Greenscope and email.

• Prepare, send and monitor transmission of settlement instructions to custodians

• Maintain position accuracy of foreign exchange book of business by performing daily reconciliations between trading and accounting platforms.

• Maintain position accuracy of futures book of business by performing daily reconciliations between clearing broker and accounting platforms.

• Monitor and maintain collateral and margin with counterparties and instruct movements to custodians.

• Ensure that all transactions are properly settled with all counterparties (resolving settlement issues including non-receipts and compensation claims).

• Perform data maintenance activities on both internal and external settlement and collateral/margin management systems

• Prepare and submit reports to the fixed income trading team

• Assist with monthly comparisons of all securities pricing in active portfolios to alternative data sources (secondary vendor or broker-dealer).

Other Duties:

This position may become involved with other project related work, as required, within the Operations department.

 

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

• 3-5 years operations, trading, or accounting systems experience; knowledge of derivatives is preferred

• Understanding of foreign exchange concepts

• Knowledge of collateral management

• Exposure to Bloomberg functionality

• Experience with FXConnect, GTSS, FuturesConnect and Greenscope systems a plus.
