Derivatives Business Analyst recruitment

Position Description:

Job Summary
As part of the Derivatives Operations group, the Derivatives Business Analyst position will be primarily responsible for leading projects to enhance the systems and processes used by the team including initiatives within our outsourcing relationship, documentation, valuation and collateral functions as well as initiatives required by emerging industry standards. The Derivative Business Analyst will work with business and technical analysts to identify enhancement and efficiency opportunities, understand and create requirements, identify and coordinate with other impacted groups, create and execute test plans, and participate in implementation efforts.

Job Responsibilities
The Derivative Business Analyst will be responsible for the following:

• Take a lead role in analyzing and implementing data requirements needed to support complex derivatives in Calypso and other systems used by the Derivatives Operations group.
•?Coordinate implementations between business and technical teams
• Maintain and coordinate prioritization of both small enhancements and major projects
•?Understand Wellington infrastructure, downstream data consumers and derivative business processes
• Identify opportunities for improvement, both new and within existing workflows and databases
• Participate in industry working groups

Job Qualifications
The Analyst should have significant knowledge of derivative instruments and their life cycle events. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable of OTC derivatives and understands both the operational aspects as well as analytics behind OTC derivatives. An ideal candidate would share a strong a derivative middle office background and a technical background. The candidate would be familiar with implementing and supporting a derivative system similar to Calypso. The candidate must have a Bachelors degree and at least 4 years of derivatives experience. An MBA or CFA, or progress towards either is a plus. This position requires independent judgment and decision making. The individual must be well organized, motivated, and possess strong problem solving skills. The successful candidate will have demonstrated analytical and writing skills, effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. While the Derivative Business Analyst will work in a team-oriented environment, most projects will be self-directed, often under intense deadline pressures.
