BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW
Goldman Sachs is seeking a lawyer to join its Sales Trading Legal Group in London. The primary focus will be on derivatives clearing and in keeping with Goldman Sachs’ flexible business strategy will encompass a broad range of products, including equity, FX, rates and credit. The successful candidate will be based in London. The role is based within the Legal Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advising on new clearing house initiatives for both inter-dealer and client clearing.
• Advising on a variety of risk management and cross-border legal issues.
• Assisting with the negotiation and drafting of documentation for client clearing, including coordination with external counsel.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-4 years post qualification legal experience in a leading law firm or financial institution preferred.
• Knowledge of clearing structures and current global regulatory initiatives preferred.
• Derivatives market experience and familiarity with ISDA and other derivative documentation preferred.
• Team oriented with the ability to respond and be flexible to client demands, whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices.
• Ability to work with colleagues in the US, Asia, the Middle East and mainland Europe.
