The incumbent should have a broad knowledge of Gold Commodity processing including physically settled and cash settled products in addition to FX settlement (non-CLS) processes. Is expected to undertake confirmation and lifecycle event processing and therefore able to investigate and resolve problems. The position will involve contact with the client, therefore there is a direct impact on the client relationship as well as the relationship of DSG with other internal departments, in addition to market counterparties. The position falls within the Gold Commodity Processing Middle Office team. Additionally, they will be expected to help the Manager develop the middle office processes/controls/services in respect of Gold Commodity processing and FX Net settlement processing.

Responsible for all aspects of Gold Commodity processing. This includes trade capture, confirmation with counterparties including investigation to resolution of any discrepancies, and settlement of both cash settled and physically settled trades. This includes obtaining and inputting of fixing rates, and agreement with counterparties of settlement sums and instruction of settlement sums. Additionally responsible for agreeing FX Net settlements sums (Non-CLS) with counterparties, investigating breaks to resolution, and releasing pay/receive instructions, The team is responsible for undertaking middle office services for a client and ensuring issues/risks are pro-actively investigated to resolution.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience in investments or banking is required. A Derivatives background is preferred. Minimum of 2 to 3 years combined experience as a Derivative Operations Specialist l and / or Specialist II, or similar related work experience required, 4 to 5 years preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills are required. Knowledge and understanding of the derivatives industry, the players, foreign exchange markets, and settlement practices in domestic and foreign markets is required. Ability to work in a team environment, or individually, and deal effectively with all levels of staff is essential.
