Derivatives Quant Analyst Job in London, London UK

Reporting to the Head of Derivatives the Derivatives Quant Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining a whole suite of quantitative models used for pricing, valuation, risk management and risk reporting services. As the role develops the role holder will become more involved in derivative strategies, market analysis and trade recommendations to fund managers and will eventually move into a more direct derivative market facing role.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide quantitative support to the Head of Derivatives in the design, development and implementation of derivative pricing, risk management and trading tools
- Assist with Derivative risk reporting
- Assist with Model validation and testing
- Work with Fund managers on derivative strategies and risk management
- Implement new and maintain existing models in Excel VBA / C++ / FinCad
- Provide quantitative support for marketing, economists and other areas of the business as required
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor Degree Minimum 2:1 involving advanced mathematical content essential e.g. Applied Maths. Physics, Engineering
- IMC or FSA approved qualification or willingness to complete as soon as possible is expected
- Technical and mathematical knowledge of derivatives and pricing/valuation and risk
- Knowledge and experience of FinCad® Derivatives modelling software
- An advanced degree in a quantitative financial discipline (desirable)
- Previous experience in a related role to derivatives (desirable)
- A knowledge of derivatives pricing and risk concepts (desirable)
- Knowledge of Excel VBA programming including procedural programming techniques
- Highly analytical, attention to detail a pro-active approach to verifying results
- Ability to multitask with a high level of initiative and high level of self motivation
- An interest in financial markets, economics and current affairs
