Derivatives Support Analyst recruitment
Trading Support provides technical and functional support for all incoming client issues on Fidessa's large product range. This role focuses on derivatives support (listed futures and options).
This team is an enthusiastic mix of people with technical, functional and customer care skills, who enjoy a varied and exciting role. A group of positive and conscientious individuals make working in this team rewarding and enjoyable.
In order to meet the requirements of a demanding client base and the diverse needs of an ever changing Financial industry, this team caters for the immediate needs of our customer, resolving a high percentage of issues independently and liaising with specialist groups within the business to ensure fast resolution for more complex problems within the Derivatives market.
The successful candidate will display a range of technical and interpersonal skills, with evidence of exposure to the Derivatives market. This busy and fast moving job requires an enthusiastic team player who is comfortable working both independently and with colleagues to achieve fast and accurate results. A keen eye for detail is essential.

Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will meet all of the requirements below:
- It is necessary that you can evidence experience in listed futures and options covering the major derivatives exchanges and products
- Previous trader support experience
- Practical understanding of what futures and options are and how they are used by market participants
- Familiarity with common futures and options strategies including a basic understanding of options 'Greeks'
- Experience with Fidessa and/or other industry standard derivatives platforms
- Have an enquiring mind with an analytical and proactive approach to problem solving, even when under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A confident and professional manner
- Able to manage own time and a changing workload
- Co-operative approach to working with team members and other departments
- Able to view situations from a customer perspective and act accordingly
- A genuine interest in and enthusiasm for developing knowledge
- Sharing knowledge among support teams
Desirable
The following would be beneficial:
- A finance, economic or technical degree
- Customer service experience in a business environment
- Ability to read and understand code in one or more of the following: C++, TCL, UNIX Scripting
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives all client raised issues (via email and telephone) and enters on the internal call logging system
- Analyses each call, using technical skills and market understanding to identify the nature of issues and action appropriately
- Deals with calls immediately, either independently or by passing to the appropriate team to ensure optimum resolution
- Works to improve knowledge and skills to increase 1st line resolution within Trading Support
- Attends client sites in a technical / functional capacity to aid resolution of issues, raise the profile of the Trading Support team and increases business understanding
- Develops strong working relationships with other departments to assist with the delivery of our service to clients
- Adheres to "best practice" for client communications and call progression
- Participates in the team shift patterns and assists with weekend work and out of hours escalation when required
