Derivatives Technology Support Analyst (130000TQ)
The Global Operations Support Team is part of the Information Technology organization within Aegon Asset Management and is responsible for supporting our global derivatives trading/back office system, Murex. This group is looking for a Derivatives Technology Support Analyst to assist with the daily operational support of Murex, combining derivatives and financial system knowledge to ensure quality and integrity of system data. This position will work extensively with numerous clients and associates to resolve and respond to incidents, service requests, and user queries regarding enterprise-wide data. A working knowledge of the products in our derivatives portfolio (including interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, futures, options, FX forwards, and other derivative transactions) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily functional and technical support to our global customers
- Evaluate, analyze and troubleshoot issues by understanding the flow of information
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, assuring customer satisfaction is consistently achieved
- Deliver accurate, timely, courteous and cooperative communication to our global customers
- Accurately configure static data and update market data within the Murex system using various data sources
- Create and maintain procedural documentation, ensuring that all routine processes are documented and cross-trained as well as risk identified and mitigated
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, improve data integrity, or reduce risk by exploiting system capabilities; partner in developing effective enhancements and make proposals based on cost versus benefit
- Lead testing and verification of information processed through the system, including developing test matrices
- Support the resolution of issues and development items by participating in discussions regarding priorities and resource availability while maintaining a focus on customer needs, the impact to the larger organization and the SDLC process requirements
- Prepare business/technical requirement specifications and functional/technical design documents for projects
- Support the creation of designs that are scalable, transferable and that meet the business needs
- Represent the team as a member of divisional project teams
- Off hour support will be required periodically
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or International Business
- 5 years of relevant business and/or technical experience, preferably in the financial asset management industry
- Derivatives experience is preferred
- Strong computer skills are required. Knowledge of and experience with financial applications, preferably Murex
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required; SharePoint 2010 knowledge is preferred
- Working knowledge of Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL), Oracle and batch scheduling is preferred
- Excellence in managing customer relationships; Proven communication skills
- Problem solver who is able to prioritize and work on multiple assignments with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated success as a team player and self-starter
