We welcome you to apply for the opportunity for a PULVERIZER DESIGN ENGINEER in the Boiler Product Operations organization within the Thermal Services group located in Windsor, CT.
 
The successful candidate will perform various engineering duties that will require them to exercise judgment and apply standard engineering principles and practices. Will work closely with their customer to prepare and design work scope definition.   Will be responsible for all engineering requirements, conforming to all applicable codes and company standards as well as approve final design layout and detailed drawings to satisfy requirements and conditions of assigned contracts.
 
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
·         Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation and service, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.
 
·         Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate.
 
·         Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
 
·         Plan, conduct or coordinate engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review.
 
·         Plant site visits involving interfacing with plant personnel and performing on site reverse engineering, inspection, and review of installed equipment.
 
·         Establish design criteria following standard practices, precedents and reference sources to accomplish design intent. Review and approve final design drawings.

Candidates should have a minimum of eight to ten years of related Pulverizer Engineering experience including prior experience designing or modifying coal pulverizers for the power industry.
 
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; a PE license is a plus.
 
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and/or a permanent resident of the U.S.
 
A thorough understanding of standard engineering theories, concepts, principles and techniques is required.
 
Candidates must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, demonstrate initiative and self motivation, as well as possess good communications skills. 
 
Travel required (up to 20%) and must have an ability to conduct on-site boiler inspections and related engineering work at various field sites throughout the U.S.
