SUMMARY:
Reporting the Project Head as the Design Engineer you will be responsible for the following;
* Good understanding of Landing Gear principals and design methodologies
* Good understanding of hydromechanical components and design methodologies
* Generates design layouts, developmental and kinematic assemblies in Catia V5
* Generates tolerance stack-ups
* Presents designs at internal design reviews
* Investigates design related issues and develops effective solutions
* Generates test requirements and supports the test lab for design related tests
* Preforms engineering investigations and participates in root cause and corrective actions
* Checks the work of junior designers
* Completed MRB training
* Good understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
* Divisional Engineering teams to ensure that engineering integrity is achieved, engineering procedures are complied, lessons learned are addressed and a robust trouble-free product is developed
* Executes design activities including:
* Liaise with customer/Suppliers for all NLG design related issues
* Foster strong customer relationships through accountability, transparency and credibility
* Responsible and accountable for all NLG design tasks and their completion dates
* Sets design team priorities and objectives with a strong drive to meet expectations
* Communicates progress and roadblocks with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and the Project Head
* Reviews, recommends, coordinates NLG design, drawing changes activity with customer, other Company disciplines and coordinates activities between production, manufacturing and engineering
* Generates NLG design documentation such as tolerance stack-ups, interface agreements and proximity sensing analysis
* Investigates design related issues and develops effective solutions
* Develop Landing Gear and Landing Gear mechanisms from customer specifications considering regulatory requirements and Goodrich Engineering methodologies.
* Generate design layouts, developmental and kinematic assemblies within Catia V5
* Direct NLG detail designers and check their output to ensure compliance to functional and customer requirements
* Utilize GLPDS tools to facilitate execution for design related tasks
* Present designs at internal and external design reviews to ensure the design meets requirements and expectations
* Develop and achieve agreement on Landing Gear interfaces with customers and suppliers.
* Ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of problems
* Ensures compliance to Goodrich engineering methodologies by providing direction and/or guidance to the design team.
* Maintains compliance to ITAR and regulatory requirements
* Be willing to participate in any off-site activity at the customer's location.
* Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Landing Gear design and development is required/or a minimum of 5 years of experience within the Aerospace industry; must include extensive experience in New Product Development of transport and / or military type aircraft components and assemblies
* Demonstrated ability to work with the Goodrich PDM (Smart-team, MatrixOne) systems is required.
* Demonstrated ability to utilize Catia V5 with strong emphasis on solid modelling and Kinematics modules.
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
* Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR CCGP
