Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Design Engineer to join the Research Development Department of this leading global manufacturer of linear slide systems based in Tiverton, Devon.
As the Design Engineer you will have a varied role which will include the design of new and improved products from concept to manufacture, the support and maintenance of existing products and the creation of product documentation; including CAD models, drawings, customer CAD data, instructions, manuals and catalogues.
This role would suit an Engineer with a degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject together with significant experience in a design / engineering role. You should be able to create and document designs using CAD tools in order to identify where calculations and tests are required, and to perform and document these calculations and tests. A high degree of technical competence, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and computer literacy are pre-requisites for this role.
The position will require the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD CAD programs and experience of these packages would be an advantage although training will be provided to candidates experienced with other design tools.
