Position Summary
The Design Engineer's primary responsibility is to manage external A/E firms in creating construction documents and verify the established AF MEP standards have been implemented. Additionally, the Design Engineer will regularly work closely with Store Construction, Store Design, Store Maintenance, Purchasing, and Real Estate
- Review leases from MEP standpoint to determine if Landlord's are providing enough utiltities
- Manage 3rd party A/E firms
- Audit construction documents for accuracy
- Review MEP Submittals and Control Shop Drawings
- Partner closely with Store Designer to coordinate MEP items
- Assist the Construction Manager with RFI"s as required
- Help establish and review MEP Design Standards
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical engineering from a ABET University
- Minimum 8+ years of MEP engineering design experience
- Must be multi-disciplinary and have strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Controls systems
- PE certification preferred
- Strong AutoCAD skills required
- Ability to read blueprints
- Strong project management skills
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Collaborative, team player attributes
- Eye for detail
- Experience in a retail environment preferred
- 10% domestic and international travel will be required for this position
