Job Title: Design Engineer
Responsible to: Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering
Key Functions of Job:
Responsible for researching, planning, and developing new or improving existing applications.
Performs assignments requiring the use and application of engineering principles with limited supervision. Completes projects within the product development guidelines to product performance requirements, cost, and schedule.
• Preparation, production and modification of design schemes, calculations, specification and detail drawings as directed by supervision on the range of company products.
• Manage this design through to production and beyond.
• Supervise the work of one or more Designers and/or Graduate Trainees.
• Review incoming engineering change requests, service quality reports etc. and prepare appropriate responses.
• Develop (with time) expertise in one or more aspect of vehicle systems design, as directed.
• Any other activity as directed by supervision in support of the companyÂ's business.
