Manufacturing company east of Columbus is seeking a Design Engineer. The candidate will initiate, modify, analyze, and support development and release for automotive seating products. Interact with other departments, customers, suppliers, and vendors to facilitate design project requirements. Support design improvement and problem solving situations.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain project schedules
Utilize Catia v5 to create parametric models and other analytical data
Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure manufacturability and proper implementation of design con
Prepare technical documentation and project presentations
Attend all project and design meetings as required and report appropriate information
Support customers design and project management related requests (on-site as needed)
Support prototype builds and product inspection as needed
Attend all training as required
Qualifications:
B.S Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
3 years experience in Automotive Seating Product Design
Knowledge of safety regulations test setup pertaining to automotive seating products
Proficient with Catia v5 modeling and drafting
Proven capability to create and check engineering drawings with minimal support
experienced with design for manufacturing and information required for cost estimation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
proficient in problem solving (creative and mechanical aptitude)
