Design Engineer Job in San Francisco 94101, California Us
A major retail sportswear and equipment manufacturer is currently seeking Machine Design Engineers to head up teams assembled to design automated manufacturing systems. These are PERMANENT positions. Candidates will be required to perform job duties in Taichung, Taiwan, or Busan, South Korea, for a minimum of 3 years (likely 3-5 years). Full Relocation Assistance will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams responsible for designing the required mechanisms, selecting and integrating a broad spectrum of components, and subsystems including - robotics, servo axis, pneumatics, fluidics dispensing systems, vibratory feeders, lasers, vision, sensors, and conveyors
- Generate concepts machine and mechanical systems drawings and perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc
- Analyze engineering drawings, and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, and workability
- In the development of equipment, processes and products, you will also examine feasibility of using one or more machines to carry out sequential operations
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years minimum experience designing automated machinery using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is preferred)
- Experience developing machinery for the LCD, Semiconductors, Electronics, Food Processing, Packaging, or Automotive industry preferred
- Desired Experience with the following - machine development project management, machinery / manufacturing simulation software (e.g. 3D Create), machinery installation and validation, automated production machinery management, and in an overseas manufacturing environment
- Mandarin fluency a plus
